Welcome to the first installment of Film Tip Friday, where I show you how to increase your production value, and re-create some of the effects from my videos.
In this episode, we take a look at how I made Skater-Vision. In this video, I used Adobe After Effects to create some cool cloning effects. Want to see the finished video? Check it out here – https://youtu.be/zhv0fgsAR4E
The idea behind this video was to show how skaters look at the world. We see normal objects as a playground, and it’s impossible to turn it off. Our main character is going through the world daydreaming at all of the possibilities in front of him. I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to use a clone effect to show him envisioning all of the tricks he could be doing at each spot.
Most of the video was done with rotoscoping (masking) and using a green screen to key out certain layers. This video is meant for editors with experience in Adobe Premiere and After Effects.
